Savore Media, LLC · Food media
Food media run out of a working kitchen.
We publish recipes and kitchen writing for two crowds: home cooks, and people who cook for a living. Everything gets cooked before it goes up.
What we publish
Two publications. One kitchen behind them.
Each one has its own readers and its own job. The standard doesn’t change between them: cook it, test it, write it so someone else can repeat it.
Simply Cooking Recipes
Tested recipes and how-to guides for people cooking dinner on a Tuesday. Over 200 recipes so far, from short rib ragu to a Yucatán pumpkin seed dip, and 70 guides on things like fixing a broken sauce.
Modern Culinarian
A publication for chefs and serious cooks. It covers sourcing and supply chain, plant-forward menus, technique, and the job as it looks from inside the kitchen. Working cooks can submit recipes and get a byline.
Who reads what, and what each one runs: our brands.
#03 · In the works
The Modern California Pantry
Our first cookbook. It starts where a lot of good cooking starts, at the pantry shelf. Sauces, condiments, and the preserved things that make a plain weeknight dinner taste like somebody cared.
The recipes are being written and tested one at a time, in order. No rushing it.
From the founder
I’ve cooked professionally for more than twenty years. Le Cordon Bleu first, then fine dining rooms, then kitchens that feed a lot of people every single day. You find out quick which recipes survive a real service and which ones only look good in a photo.
Savore Media is where that gets written down. We don’t publish anything we haven’t cooked, and we say so when something is sponsored. Mostly we try to explain the why. Once a cook understands why the pan has to be that hot, they don’t need us for the next recipe.
