How we build
How we build our sites
The tools behind this site, and behind the food sites we build for other people.
Some links on this page are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only list what we actually use. Details are on our affiliate disclosure page.
The stack
- Hosting: HostingerThis site runs on Hostinger’s managed WordPress hosting. Caching, SSL, and email all live on one account, which keeps a small site simple to run.
- WordPress, block editorNo page builder. Pages stay light, and the person who owns the site can edit them without calling us.
- Blocksy themeA fast, well-built theme, customized with a small child theme instead of a pile of plugins.
- A small custom pluginHandles login limits, security headers, page titles and descriptions, and structured data. Fewer plugins means fewer things to update and fewer things to break.
- FluentSMTPSends form mail through a real mail server, so inquiries land in the inbox instead of spam.
Want one built?
We build food and hospitality sites on this same setup. Recipe sites, restaurant sites, small publications. You get something fast that you can edit yourself, and nobody has to explain it to you twice.
