The Modern California Pantry

Our first cookbook. It’s about the jars, sauces, and pantry staples that do most of the work in a good kitchen, written for home cooks who want more flavor on a weeknight without more effort.

What’s in it

The book runs on one idea: the pantry changes everything. Keep a few good sauces and condiments on the shelf and ordinary dinners stop being ordinary.

The recipes lean California. Citrus, chiles, good olive oil, whatever the farmers market has too much of that week. Each one comes with the reasoning behind the technique, substitutions for what you don’t have on hand, and ideas for what to put it on.

A couple from the first chapter: a charred scallion vinaigrette, and a California take on salsa macha.
